Hi! Welcome to my blog. My name is Miranda and I’m a professional data scientist with 7 years of experience.
At time of writing, I’m still not entirely sure what I want this blog to be “about”, but you can expect it to cover a wide variety of topics related to my interests and professional curiosities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My background is mathematics, which I studied for both undergrad and grad school (PhD, ABD, unfinished). My area of research was algebraic topology, specifically focused on computational invariants like persistent homology and topological complexity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My first stop after grad school was a slot manufacturer, where I made all kinds of products for the American and Canadian markets. I specifically did the math behind these games, including both theory and simulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Afterwards, I’ve held various stops at a ULCC airline, two separate teams in a FAANG company, one video analytics and one ML\/AI platform, and finally a sportsbook, where I lead a small team of awesome data scientists working on trading intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In my free time, I like to play and study games and do boring normal stuff with my partner(s). I’m also a college football bettor, with a 55% win record over 3-4 years of serious betting guided by analytics and advanced statistical models.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
